This is a common question – the answer is you can have your vehicle repaired where ever you want! Insurance companies have their own network of repairers and are keen to get you to use them because they save money by using them. However your Insurance company cannot stop you using a repairer of your own choice, it just means the Insurance company engineer will need to inspect your vehicle and agree costs with your repairer, before the repairs take place. Do not be bullied by your Insurance company, and do not accept it if they say you cannot use your own repairer. The only problem you may find is that you may not get a courtesy car if your repairer will not provide one free of charge, as the Insurance company repairers provide these free of charge to the Insurance companies.
